Dr. Burns provides complete treatment management, starting with your first consultation all of the way until your treatment is complete.

Dr. Angela Burns will determine if you’re a candidate for treatment, starting with an assessment of your bite. They may analyze your occlusion (how your teeth fit together) and take diagnostic records before recommending CandidPro. If you choose to proceed, Dr. Burns will share specifics about cost and timing.
After Dr. Burns submits your case, she'll work with a US-licensed orthodontist to create a treatment plan just for you. Candid's manufacturing team will then create your aligners. While you wait for your aligners, you can download CandidApp™ from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Treatment time will vary depending on your biology. With CandidPro, 70% of patients complete their treatment within 8.5 months. Dr. Burns will be able to give you an estimate once she has developed your treatment plan.
You will definitely need to start with your doctor in-person so they can assess your smile and take the records necessary for treatment. After that, you’ll use CandidApp™ to share progress with your doctor using your smartphone. Depending on their preferences, your doctor may ask that you also return to the office periodically to help them assess your progress.
Westlake Family Dental offers flexible financing options starting at $135 per month to help you afford the cost of care. You can also use orthodontic insurance benefits and/or your HSA/FSA dollars. If you’re concerned about the cost, it may help to remember that forgoing orthodontic treatment today could lead to more expensive treatments later in life.
Dr. Angela Burns will provide an orientation to help you get started. In most cases, you’ll be asked to wear each set of aligners for 22 hours a day.
CandidApp will send you a notification when it’s time for your next aligner change. But first, you’ll need to share photos of your smile with Dr. Burns so she can review your progress.
Dr. Burns will likely prescribe a retention device for you to wear after you complete your CandidPro treatment. If you don’t wear a retainer, you could risk your teeth moving back to where they started! So make sure you follow Dr. Burns' instructions.

Dr. Angela Burns moved to Austin 10 years ago and instantly fell in love with our beautiful city. Dr. Burns is originally from the Texarkana area. She attended Texas A&M for her undergraduate degree and The University of Tennessee Health Science Center for her degree in dental surgery (DDS). Dr. Burns is committed to providing her patients with gentle, technologically advanced dental treatment. She attends an average of 60 hours of continuing education every year. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, and the Capital Area Dental Society. Dr. Burns and her husband, Gary, have an 11 year old daughter, Sydney, who is a proud 6 th grader at Hill Country Middle School. She is also very involved in the Eanes PTO, her church, and loves raising her family in the Westlake community.

I was a camp counselor, student government officer and being the oldest of five, I was the family mediator. I found that I had a calling to help alleviate stressful situations for others and realized that being a good listener was something that was key to this.
